Point your camera at a card and it goes into your collection. There is no shutter button, no cropping and no typing: the card is captured the moment it is recognised twice in a row, so you hold up the next one straight away. A binder page takes about as long as it takes to turn it.
Recognition is a perceptual hash computed in the browser and compared against an index of every printing — around 250 KB, downloaded once. There is no upload, no queue, and no endpoint in this app that could receive an image. It also means the scanner works with no connection at all: scan a whole box on the train, or at a tournament where the wifi has given up.
Other scanners run in the cloud, so every scan costs them money and has to be rationed — ten free scans, then a subscription. This one costs nothing to give away, so nothing is counted. Scan as many cards as you like, today and tomorrow.
Each scan identifies the card, its set and which printing it is — alternate arts and parallels are separate cards with separate prices, and it says which one you are holding. The live price in euros is on the capture card, so you know what a pull is worth before you have put it down.
Nothing. The scanner, the prices, the decks and the export are the whole app, and there is no paid tier holding any of it. You do not need an account to browse the catalogue; you need one only to keep a collection.
